Saturday 26 May Minnippi Parklands - Brown Bonwick Memorial
The Brown-Bonwick Memorial cross country is back again at Minnippi Parklands with an exciting competition including handicapped races and plenty of prizes. Ever since the formation of Thompson Estate Athletics on the 3rd of October 1900 the names John Brown and Albert Bonwick and their subsequent families have been significant in not only the establishment of one of the foremost and historic athletic clubs in Australia but also the aid and direction of Queensland Athletics as well. As history slips by we do tend to forget the names and faces of those who forged the sport that we all love, so the Committee of Thompson Estate are always proud to present the Brown-Bonwick Memorial Handicap and thank our sponsors for the prizes, all the volunteers, and you the competitor for upholding the tradition.

Details available on http://www.sportscredentials.com.au
RESULTS
The combined Queensland Athletics and Queensland Running Schools Cross Country Champs were held on the 5th May. This was a huge event with many races having well over 100 athletes entered. Many TEES runners were there competing for their schools. Katrina Robinson won the 12 year girls race.  Samantha Whitting came 6th. The event had 124 competitors, making these results very impressive. In the 13 year boy's race Jared Pascoe came 7th,  Luke Kingdon came 9th, Kurt Frampton 12th and Callum Davies 15th. In the 12 year old boy's race Jacob Bragg came 3rd, in the 11 year girl's race Christabel Kingdon came 8th and Jordan Kingdon came 14th in the 9 year old boy's race. In the 13 year old girl's race Nicole Swan came 7th out of 145 competitors.
On this same day the Queensland Short Course Cross country Champs were held and Dean Comber and Bruce Bodsworth both won their age division in the 4km.
Queensland Athletics have announced their selection criteria for being a member of the Queensland Heat Cross Country Team which will compete in Adelaide in late August in the Australian Cross Country Champs. This is a combined event with the Australian School's Championships. If you don't succeed in making the School's team this is another great opportunity for  cross country runners born in 2000 or later. Athletes must compete in the Queensland Athletics Championships on August 4th. The top 6 placegetters (if they meet selection criteria), will be elligible to compete at Nationals. As a number of the top place getters in the race may already have a place in the Qld School's Team it means that potentially you may qualify even if you get 12th! Check the QA website calendar for details of this event and their selsection criteria.
NOTICES
Next week the Meteast cross country trials are held. Good luck to all our members competing
The TEES monthly committee meeting is now held on the 3rd Monday of the month at our clubrooms at 6.30pm. All members welcome.
The Crackerjack Carnival is to be held next month on our grounds. We have a food stall there. This is a big fundraiser for our club and if we could have a pool of volunteers to help run the stall that would be great, and hopefully a lot of fun. A notice will be going out about this next week.
