Well done to those TEES members who competed in Tasmania for the Australia Cross Country Champs in muddy conditions. Those in the top 10 were Ellie Ryan (4th), Tahlia Fletcher(7th), Katrina Robinson (5th). Ellie's team came 1st in the 11 year girls category as did Tahlia's in the 12 year girls' category and Katrina's in the 13 year girls'category. Shelbee Welsh's team came 2nd in the 10 year old girls event.
Regional Track and Field Champs have been held with many TEES members getting PBs and some making it to States. At Meteast Shellbee Welsh won the 10 year old 800m race, Ellie Ryan won the 11 year old 800m race in a new record time of 2.28.8, Shatalii Mooney-Stack came 2nd in the same race. Christabel Kingdon was 2nd in the 12 year girl's 800m. In the 13 year girls' 1500m race Katrina Robinson won in a new record time of 4.48.18 and Camelia qualified for States with her time of 5.15. Shellbee Welsh also qualified for States in the Multi-event competition coming 2nd. and Ellie Ryan came 3rd in her Multi event. Hannah Schlecht had a wonderful competition winning the 100m, 200m and 400m. In the 13-15 age group for the 3000m 13 year old Katrina Robinson came 2nd in a time of 10.00.43. This was ahead of the old record by 22 seconds. Unfortunately though the 13 year olds were told the next week that Queensland School Sport have changed the rules and are now not letting 13 year olds run at States, even though some other States are. Thwane Fouche qualified for States in this event in her time of 10.38.43, she also came 2nd in the 14 year girls' 1500m race. Callum Davies was 3rd in the 1500m and also qualified for States in his 3000m race in a time of 9.59. Camelia Menzies also qualified for States by placing 2nd in the 13 year javelin event. Torryn Squires came 3rd in the 10 year girls' 800m event at Metnorth. Katelyn Savage came 3rd in the 16 year javelin event. Samantha Wilson was 3rd in the 400m and first in the Long Jump
